We are in escrow, as of Tuesday morning, and in out 'Due Diligence' period. We have to review all of the paperwork for the offer and the banks acceptance, read and review the HOA documents, and get our home inspection done.
Today, I am taking documentation over to our mortgage broker so he can finish up the mortgage papers and get them sent off.
Hopefully we will get this wrapped up and close escrow on the property by the end of the month.
I also have been in discussions with a new company about a job- better pay, better benefits, not in Boulder City. It looks pretty positive. They interviewed 6 other people besides myself, and the gal in the office wants to hire me. (I feel special) The office is a small 'satellite" style branch of the Reno office, so the HR/manager peeps get to make the final decision. I hope to hear back from them by the end of the week or early next week. The manager guy in Reno said they would like to have me start on the 21st of April.
I hate waiting, for anything and everything.
Buying a house is a pain in the ass. At least we aren't under pressure to find a place because we already own a town home and really aren't in a hurry.
So far we have looked at over 30 properties and had two deals go south.
Unfortunately, the majority of the houses we have looked at need lots of work to make them livable and even more to make them the way we want them to be. Some of the homes problems really, in my opinion, can only be solved with a wrecking ball. Holy crap! What the hell is wrong with people. "I'm losing my home, I'm gonna completely trash it". WTF?? Sorry 300K for a fixer upper, No thanks!
We were thinking that all hope is lost. It gets depressing looking at house after crappy house....
We found a neighborhood that is expanding with new construction in on of the areas we were looking in... and they have a really nice 2 story floor plan with a 3 car garage (that will fit Eric's 1960 Buick)... and holy shit- we can afford to do it- even with upgrade options.
So tomorrow, I think, we are going to go there with our Realtor (who is a friend of mine) and get some more information. Yay! All hope is not lost.
We might have to wait until fall to move, but it would be worth it to be able to get exactly what we want instead of having to deal with other peoples (sucky) choices.
Of course, we will have to wait on having an in-ground hot tub put in, but for a brand spankin' new house that we picked everything out in is perfectly acceptable to us.
