Assaulted by a Cactus
Way back on May 24, we were moving the last of our stuff out of our townhouse. Mostly the stuff off the patio. Chairs, terracotta pots, plants, rocks, rock and more rocks.
We loaded up Eric's truck and drove it on down to the new house.
While we were unloading the truck, I picked up a cactus in a pot and the whole lip of the pot broke off causing the cactus to drop. My finger was stabbed almost all the way through. There were little kids out riding their bikes nearby, so I didn't want to swear out loud. Out loud I was saying "ow ow ow ow" etc... In my head I was saying "HOLY FUCK! THAT HURTS! FUCK!!"
Needless to say since it was a pretty vicious cactus with long hard needles it made for a nice puncture wound.
Today, I got fed up with the little scab at the opening of the puncture wound. I picked at it. I scratched at it. Finally I decided to poke at it with a needle to see if there was any infection by pushing the small lump around the wound entrance.
To my surprise, out popped a fricking cactus spine like a damn turkey timer! The cactus spine is slightly over 1/2" in length and hard as well, wood.
28 days this cactus spine has been in my finger. TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS!!!
So, I guess it will finish healing up nicely, then.
